Black Pudding 7

Finally, it is HERE. Black Pudding 7.

This issue features the following awesomeness.

Character Classes:

Rat Bastard

Iggy (by David Okum)

Flamer

Eyeball

Monsters:

Rocky

Grave Crusader

Dracowisp

Tyrano-X

Queen of the Dark Light

And the rest of the issue is a gazetteer of Yria, the setting of Black Pudding. It is an iteration of Pan-Gea. The five cities described, many areas sketched out, lots of random tables.

Go!

    1. Thanks! I had that sketch lying around for about a year. I thought it would make a good metal album cover or BP cover.

  2. I seem to recall you talking about wanting to do a brief gazetteer in a similiar vein to the one done in the orginal Isle of Dread.

I would say you hit the mark squarely and then some. Very evocative and imagination stirring.

    Well done sir!

    1. I appreciate that! Totally going for X1 vibes, but with more poetry. Hoped to paint a sketch of a world rather than giving you an overload of info.

  3. I know this is silly, but the fact that a first level eyeball is called an "apt pupil" hit me square on the funny one and it keeps getting funnier the more I think about it.

  4. This is great, especially the Rat Bastard. Pages about gods that don't make me want to fall asleep is a new experience too. Will there be a physical version?

    1. The famous barbaribunny! Yeah, Squarehex will do the printing as usual. In fact, there's probably going to be a Kickstarter for it to help finance reprinting some older issues. Of course you'll be able to pick up the physical issue without doing the Kickstarter thing, once all the dust settles. But there should be some cool extras for the campaign. Stay tuned.

    2. Will this include another Heavy Helping? The first is one of my favorite books on my shelf, and this Yria gazetteer looks like a perfect complement to it!

    3. The next Heavy Helping will come after issue 8. First HH was 1-4, so I figure I'll repeat that with HH 2 and include 5-8. I'm happy you like the first one! I'm proud of it.

  5. Fantastic work as always! Is another Heavy Helping in the works with the new volumes? The original has become one of my favorite books to flip through for inspiration.

  6. Loved #7 You hit the world building right out of the park! Your Black Puddings are easily the best thing in gaming to me. The only issue with it is it makes me hungry for more! Just a few spoonful's more please Sir!

    1. I appreciate that! That setting has been in my head and at my table for many years, just slowing growing here and there. But it's not a heavily detailed setting. I let it grow organically. I wanted it to be presented as a suggestion and inspiration.

  7. But what about the Meatshields of the Bleeding Ox?
